NATURE RESERVE
Our Mission Objectives

Maximise Ecological Diversity
We actively manage Aspect Nature Reserve to create optimal conditions for native flora and fauna to thrive. This includes practices such as avoiding the use of chemicals and adopting a ‘let it rot’ ethos to deadwood management.

Encourage Education and Engagement
A core mission of Aspect Nature Reserve is to offer a safe, supportive space for local community groups and for schools to enrich their educational experiences. We strive to share our learnings as widely as possible and inspire others to adopt similar practices wherever possible.

Champion Bold Innovation
We are proudly innovative, embracing new approaches to advance research and enhance biodiversity. For example, in collaboration with the Woodland Trust, we recently launched a large-scale demonstration project to showcase a variety of Roundel (circular, cleared areas surrounding trees) management techniques

Promote Multi-Generational Connections
Aspect Nature Reserve is designed to endure for generations to come. Its Management Plan envisions the site lasting for at least 300 years - by which time our oak trees will be entering their middle age!
Get Involved!

Volunteer Days
Want to make a brash fence, do some coppicing, or plant a tree? We regularly hold volunteer days, suitable for all ages, no previous experience required. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter for upcoming dates.
Schools and Community Groups
We welcome schools and other community groups. We have toilet facilities and insurance cover (for groups of up to 50). There is a large outside learning area (with woodland-appropriate seating), or a 12m x 6m marque if you want added protection from the elements! There is no fee to use the site.
Corporate Days
Looking for a team bonding day with a difference? We will work with you to design a day your staff will love and remember for years (A contribution to our educational programme would be nice).
